Method of purchasing wooden toys

Firstly, observe whether the surface of the toy is smooth and free of burrs

Wooden toys are mostly handmade, so the smoother the surface of the toy, the finer the workmanship.

Secondly, smell if there is any odor

Wooden toys often have a strong smell of wood itself, and if the smell is too strong, it indicates that the toy is tightly sealed or there is a problem with the topcoat. If the plastic seal is too tight, simply place the toy in a ventilated and cool place for 2-3 days to solve the problem. Usually, as long as the toy paint is purchased through legitimate channels, there is basically no problem.

Thirdly, check the materials of wooden toys

There are roughly three types of materials used in wooden toys. One type is imported rubber wood, beech wood, etc. The wood grain is delicate, the hand feel is good, and it is durable, but the price is relatively high. One type is basswood, pine, etc., which have beautiful wood patterns and a light touch, making them the most common wooden toy materials. One type is plywood toys, which are generally suitable for making puzzle or flat toys.

Fourth, choose appropriate toys based on age group

Each wooden toy will indicate the recommended age for the target audience, and parents should choose toys that are suitable for their children's age group. Children under 3 years old are more likely to put toys in their mouths or nostrils, so they should choose toys with larger building blocks, simple shapes, and smooth surfaces; Children over 3 years old have rich sensory experience and relatively enhanced safety awareness, and can choose more delicate wooden toys.
